Quick Golf Tips

Balance in the Golf Swing

One important component of the golf swing is balance. Balance should be maintained throughout the whole swing.

This is a common mistake made by a lot of golfers. It all starts when they address the ball. They are either leaning too far forward or too far back. This results in the inability to complete a full swing pivot and moving their weight without losing their balance. Your weight should be distributed evenly over the balls of your feet. This allows you to swing the club and pivot correctly without either losing balance or making adjustments in the swing to compensate.

If you are performing this correctly then it should be hard for you to be pushed off your feet.

Golf Putting Tip

A quick golf putting tip to impove hitting the ball out of the middle of the putter. One way to do this is to stick two coins on the face of the putter so that the middle of the putter face ("sweet spot") is visible.

Next step is to practice putting the ball without hitting either of the coins on the putter face. This will allow you to gain consistancy with your putting stroke by hitting the ball out of the middle of the putter more often.

How to Get Crisper Shots
Transofrm Your Golf Game

To get a crisper shot you need to practice hitting down on the ball. To achieve this use a down slope and  one of the middle irons. Then set your shoulders so that they are parallel with the down slope. On this shot most inexperienced players will try and come out of the shot by tilting backwards, so try and conciously keep your shoulders parallel to the ground.

The next stage of the shot is to focus on the weight transfer to the front leg as you swing down. It should feel as though your right thigh is on top of the ball through impact. This allows your hands to be forward, helping to create lag in the club and a downward strike.

This is also a great tip when using the driver, as you want you hands to lead the club head, therefore, creating lag which in turn creates more club head speed through the ball.
